New Light FCC Purpose

Exalt

We Exist to Worship Jesus Christ (John 4:21-24; Revelation 5:11-12).

William Temple, the former Archbishop of Canterbury said that worship is:The submission of our nature of God
The nourishing of our mind with God’s truth
The purifying of our imagination by God’s beauty
The surrender of our will to God’s purpose
All gathered up in Adoration

The church exists to worship the True and Living God who has revealed the Godself through Jesus Christ.  Worship is not cheap entertainment.  Worship is declaring the ultimate worth of God.  Worship is our adoring response to God'’ mercies.  True worship involves the mind, emotions and volition of the worshiper.

Worship is declaring the ultimate worth of Jesus Christ.

Worship is our adoring response to the mercies of God.

Worship involves mind, emotion and volition.

Worship is characterized by praise, prayer, preaching giving of tithes and offerings, art, dance, ordinances and other special way that the human soul expresses adoration.

Worship should include: preparation (Exodus 19:10-11); participation (Psalms 34:1-3); and practice (Isaiah 6:1-8).

EVANGELISM

We exist to Save the Lost through Jesus Christ (Luke 15:1-24 and Luke 19:1-9)

The church exists to save the lost through Jesus Christ.  Read Luke 15 and see the high priority Jesus had for the lost People. To be lost means not to have Jesus as Lord of your life. Humans are lost, not God. God is the seeker, and humans are the sought. God uses the church to introduce the Savior to the lost.

EQUIP

We exist to develop the saved (Matthew 28:19-20)

The church exists to develop the saved.  In Deuteronomy 6:4-10 and Matthew 28:19-20, the church is commissioned to teach.  The church exists to mature and nurture its members. We as Christians are in the process of becoming. Sunday School is the primary teaching arm of the church. Sunday School is a lay movement.

EDIFY

We exist to provide fellowship (Matthew 25:31-46, Romans 15:1, Galatians 6:1-2, Hebrews 10:24-25)

The church exists to provide fellowship.  Read Galatians 6:1-2 to get a clear picture of what fellowship entails. Fellowship is sharing the hurts and pains of others. We will be judged based on how we respond to the least among us. We must come in contact with other church members is one of the places you can use for adding FAQ answers on your website. What are your service times and what can I expect during a typical worship service?

Service times are listed on our website and may vary seasonally. A typical service includes worship through music, prayer, Scripture reading, and a Bible-centered message. Services are designed to be welcoming for both long-time believers and first-time guests, and you are free to participate at your comfort level.

How can I become a member, and what is the process for baptism?

Membership is available for those who desire to commit to our church family and align with our statement of faith. The process generally includes a membership class or orientation, meeting with a pastor or leader, and completing any required forms. Baptism is offered for those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ and want to publicly declare that commitment. Please contact the church office to learn the next available dates and preparation steps.

Do you offer ministries for children and youth, and what safety measures are in place?

Yes. We provide age-appropriate ministry opportunities for children and youth during designated times, including biblical teaching, worship, and community-building activities. For safety, we use secure check-in procedures, maintain appropriate adult-to-child ratios, and ensure volunteers complete screening and training. If you have questions about specific age groups or accommodations, our ministry team will be glad to assist.
